I didn't respond immediately when a client asked whether I would provide her Reiki I Attunement. In a few days, I said, "Yes." Then began two and a half months of daily preparations. I reviewed the from my attunements and my numerous Reiki books.

Verbal description of the process. What to expect. * Place chairs in a circle, backs toward the middle to create a mirror effect and facilitate the creation of a greater connection to the energies. (Alternative: Two persons will be attuned at a time -- chairs back-to-back) * Close your eyes and go into a meditative state. * Use Reiki Power Symbols to clear the area, clear my mind and heart, and start the Reiki energies flowing. * Working with one person at a time, place hands on their shoulders to connect with their energies. From the back... Begin Breath of the Dragon breathing. Take as much time for each step as is needed. No hurry! After completing one step, move to the next person, and
the next. Next step... 1. From behind, place hands on shoulders near center of body to connect and ground them 2. Place left palm over initiate's head, palm up 3. With right hand, draw symbols one time above the crown 4. Silently repeat symbol names and draw them mentally three times 5. Keep right hand, palm down, over crown until feeling the energy. Left hand behind head 6. Moving to initiate's front, repeat steps 3, 4, 5 7. Repeat on right side. Repeat on the left. 8. Place right hand on top of crown chakra and visualize symbols 9. Silently repeat symbols' names and draw them three more times 10. Tap initiate on right shoulder. Place both hands on initiate's shoulders 11. Lift initiate's hands in a prayer position above and in front of the forehead 12. Blow symbols across the crown 13. Clasp their closed hands 14. Touch their fingertips to sensitize 15. Visualize symbols and silently repeat their names three times 16. Still holding initiate's hands, blow Cho Ku Rei breath thru their fingertips while moving hands from base of spine to the crown chakra 17. Return their hands to the chest position 18. Clap symbols into initiate's hands 19. Lift and align initiate's chakras 20. REPEAT FOR THIRD EYE CHAKRA. Left hand behind head, right hand on forehead 21. REPEAT FOR THROAT CHAKRA. Left hand behind neck, right hand lightly over hollow of throat 22. REPEAT FOR HEART CHAKRA. Left hand on back above scapulae, right hand on mid to lower chest 24. REPEAT FOR SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA. Left hand on back, right hand on front 25. From behind, place hands on the shoulders for a moment 26. Take hold of the head with palms under jaw line and gently lift head to stretch and align the spine. Hold for a moment and slowly release 27. Step back and draw a Raku from crown to root 28. Walk to front, place hands on knees, bow and silently say "Shanti" three times. (Peace for you, for me, and for the world.) 29. Have initiates remain in a meditative state until everyone has shared the initiation ss 30. When the bell rings, open eyes and join hands in a circle facing the center You have now been empowered with the gift of Reiki I 31. After attunements, have initiates rest. Anyone like to share their experience? The energy transfer opens initiates to the universal Reiki energy. It also initiates the 21-day clearing cycle of the seven major chakras - one chakra a day, starting at the root, repeating three times. The initiation and clearing cycle opens you to healing and psychic channels. Initiates become more balanced after completing the process SECOND ROUND: Repeat, with the addition of one of the Power Essential Oils.
