10 Basic Healing Modalities

Do you think massage is the only hands-on natural healing modality? Not! Massage is a wonderful basic hands-on natural healing modality that lends itself to integration with other modalities. Among favorites that I practice are nine other valuable healing modalities:

Body Electronics introduces the important element of nutritional preparation, mind-body connections, and an advanced form of Reflexology. Participants super saturate their bodies with five essential types of nutrients - and then receive and give to others a process called point holding to dissolve crystalized reflex points. This breaks down calcified deposits in gatekeeper points and reopens free-flowing energy and nutrient flow to affected organs and cells. Body Electronics facilitates release of mental and emotional issues related to physical problems, thus supporting permanent healing. Having practiced Body Electronics since December 1986, OMAR! is eager to facilitate more information and describe "miraculous" healing experiences!

Edu-Kinesthetics grew out of Touch for Health. It is applied to improving behavioral modes, such as reading, speaking, and coordination.

Massage. Almost everyone enjoys receiving and giving massage. It nurtures, relaxes, energizes, and supports natural healing. Massage can also provide the base around which other types of bodywork -- such as reflexology and polarity -- are integrated. Massage forms include:
* Swedish, * Esalen, * Shiatsu, * Foot Massage, a form of reflexology (see below), * Hand Massage. Whatever its form, massage feels good and is good for you!

Myotherapy. This form -- - also called Trigger Point -- releases muscle pain. It is described in Bonnie Pruden's book, Pain Erasure the Bonnie Pruden Way. You can learn to do myotherapy on yourself and others to relax the muscle spasms that cause up to 90 per cent of physical discomforts one feels in the body -- especially in backs, necks, and shoulders. Some discomfort may be experienced until you are accustomed to receiving it. Integrating massage with myotherapy creates a beneficial, pleasurable team. Trigger Pointing is applied with firm pressure on specific points that accompany muscle spasms. A point reveals itself, because it is sensitive when pressed. Pressure is held 10 seconds or longer until the pain is gone. Usually a spasm "melts" under pressure. Trigger-Pointing works by depriving a spasm of oxygen.

Polarity. The healthy body is a finely-tuned organism, balancing positive and negative polarities, as in the earth's magnetic poles. A balanced person feels healthy, energetic, and vibrant! Polarity may be what you need to revitalize yourself or a partner from a "dog-tired" feeling. During a treatment, you'll likely experience a deeply relaxed state. Polarity is performed by touching, or bridging, energetically-interconnected points. Once energetic charges balance out, the life force energy (Chi) flow returns. Relief!

Reflexology. Nerve energy from each of the body's organs connects with specific points in the brain, feet, hands, eyes, ears, neck, and at least 50 other parts of the body. The human mind/ body is a veritable hologram! The practitioner applies pressure upon finding hard, painful spots in feet, for example. Invariably, one finds discomfort in various corresponding points, since a problem in one place shows up in others. Peoples' common painful spots are found in backs, heads, necks, shoulders, colons....

Reiki. Reiki is Universal Life Energy that flows through your body and benefits you and everyone you are near. Everyone has a vibrational Reiki-type energy to some extent. To raise your vibrational Reiki power to the point where you and others actually feel it -- and enjoy an increase in your energies and healing response -- you'll want a Reiki I Attunement by a Reiki Master. It'll change your life! The Reiki attunement was reintroduced to the world in the late 1800s by Dr. Mikao Usui, dean of a Christian college in Kyoto, Japan. Dr. Usui wondered why in modern times people didn't experience miraculous healing as in Jesus's time. Reiki is his gift to the world! For your attunement, call OMAR! at 608 231 2775! Once attuned, you'll practice Reiki by placing hands lightly for five minutes over each of many places on another's body -- over forehead, temples, neck, shoulders, arms, heart, etc. After about 15 minutes, most people "feel" the pleasant sensation of energy moving within their body. One's body takes the universal energy that comes in a Reiki session to facilitate whatever healing is needed. Practicing Reiki frees body wisdom, with no conscious thought as to what needs to happen. OMAR! enjoys integrating Reiki with other bodywork forms. Reiki has also taught us that massage need not be performed as a precisely-timed series of strokes and pressures. What feels most comforting -- and is often best for one's partner -- may be a very S-L-O-W touch.

Shiatsu. Synonyms include: Acupressure, Deep-Tissue Massage, and Point-Holding. Shiatsu is often associated with the East, especially Japan. It is distinct from Trigger Pointing, which treats accompanying muscle spasms. Trigger Points associated with muscle spasms disappear once triggered out. Acupressure points treated with shiatsu correspond to about 365 tsubos, or acupuncture points - the points into which -- if you were receiving acupuncture -- needles would be inserted. These are mysterious points that feel wonderful when pressed by thumbs and fingers...or, if energy is blocked, somewhat painful in a good way. They are always there. The basis for Shiatsu is that nerve energy to corresponding organs and meridians is stimulated by pressing the right points.

Spine-Lax. Spinal muscles are among the most important muscles of the body. When tight, they choke off free-flowing nerve energy from vertebral points to organs, glands, and other tissues -- and may over time cause a spine to assume a contorted shape. Spine-Lax facilitates the relaxing of spinal muscles. It's relaxing and beneficial! Out-of-balance vertebrae frequently align themselves once spinal muscles relax.

Touch for Health. Imagine knowing how to ask the body...what it needs...to correct a dysfunction...by testing specific muscles...that connect with meridians...affected by blocked energy! You can then release the blockages by knowing what points to rub, and what else to do. We were skeptical until a therapist relieved a skin rash of many months duration by treating the kidney meridian. The rash disappeared and didn't come back.
