How OM-FREE Came to Be
You've tried treatments and pills. Nothing has fully worked. You're curious about holistic Multi-Dimensional Treatments.
Come see me for a "hands-on" demonstration of a powerful holistic treat-ment. Since 1976, my primary focus has been to improve my own health, and integrate treatments to support your quest for better health. I've done thousands of hours of client play/work, and make my living at it.
I assure you: A multi-dimensional approach to healing works superbly providing that you have faith that it will, persist, don't take suppressive meds (too many, at least), and line up your healing "ducks."
OM-FREE potentially covers most bases needed to build robust health. It's possible to release a large amount of cellular tension that leads to dis-ease in mind and body in successive sessions of a couple of hours each over several days, weeks, months or even years, depending on the challenge. I enjoy demonstrating this powerful work in brief treatments of 20 or 30 minutes at expos I go to. However long a treatment you take, you'll quickly know whether you feel better and want to commit to a longer private session(s).
One of OM-FREE's basic principles: Energy window/switches (reflexes) - the same points as in acupuncture - must be open and should optimally remain open after a treatment. With proper nutritional support before, during, and after treatment(s), in time they will stay open. That alone dramatically accelerates the natural healing processes.
I am Howard C Nelson, born in January, 1939. I call myself OMAR! (or omar,,,), my spiritual name. In my mid-60's, I have more energy and better health than I recall having had in my teens.
I still remember dragging through high school, college and afterward. I had severe hay fever attacks over six weeks each spring. They started in the summer of 1956, when I was riding a Greyhound bus home, after visiting Willamette Univ. for the first time.
Twenty-five years ago, when I was in my early 40's, I contracted walking, viral pneumonia for about six weeks' duration during five successive autumns!
My lower back had been hurting since I was in middle school, in the early 1950's. Until I got rid of it, I suffered from chronic low back pain associated with scoliosis for at least 30 years!
In my early 40's, in the early 1980's, I had the compelling thought, "I'd better get my act together or I'm going to die prematurely." About that time, I read about people who chose to become High-Energy People. One day, I decided I wanted to become One of them!
Health challenges notwithstanding, I have also had great ambitions throughout most of my life - I've got what's called "Achievement Motivation." With a B.A. in social sciences-journalism (Willamette Univ., Salem, OR '60), an M.S. in journalism (Columbia Univ., New York '62), two years in the Peace Corps (Chile '64-'66) and a year's work toward a Ph.D. in journalism (Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison '66-'67)…
I believed in myself. The goal that I adopted was to serve at least a million people. In 1974, I started a company -- Creative Communications, Inc. Its start-up was slow, and I decided to try to ally with an affluent person.
When I read the columns of W. Clement Stone in Success Magazine, which he published, I thought I had found the right person to seek to ally with. With my brains and his money, I thought, we'll change the world together!
I began to direct weekly solicitations to him. Surely, he wouldn't miss a few thousand dollars. He was said to be worth at least $500 million!
Week after week, I wrote to him, but he didn't respond. So week after week, I sharpened my thinking, improved my proposals, and tried again - just as I'd read in Success Magazine that one needs to do.
After a year of doing this, I had formulated the concept for an organization that I would call Success Strategy to Revitalize America - SSRA. Surely, he would support me financially. One day I visited his office in Chicago. He wasn't there. A representative called him to ask what to do. He reportedly said to ask me to leave, or I'd be sent to the Cook County jail. I left peacefully. Another time I visited his home on the shores of Lake Michigan; I'm sure he was home, but after talking with someone, his wife said he was not. Again, I consistently thought… If I persist as he taught me to do, surely eventually, he will support me!
Wrong! Or maybe, Right! When I published the outline for the SSRA program in the Autumn 1981 issue of Seminars Directory, he sued me for $70 million for "invasion of privacy," "unfair competition," and other trumped-up charges.
I recognized that he had dealt me the card I needed to launch SSRA. Now I faced the biggest test of all! Mr. Stone had kicked my rear, not taken me by the hand. My wife, parents, children, and others who were important in my life didn't understand the incredible opportunity I knew he had given to me. They put huge pressure on me to stop being foolish.
Thus came my Moment of Truth! Did I want to put everything I had psychically, energetically, emotionally and financially to launch SSRA? Was this my true calling?
I decided it was not. The stressors of those weeks were huge. I felt lousy, and had low energy. All I could think about was going to a massage workshop to relieve the tension. My enthusiasm for SSRA rapidly dwindled. I just wanted to feel better!
A lawyer I knew said it would cost at least $20,000 to defend myself. I decided to take it lying down, without rebuttal. I would take the consequences. One day, I discovered that $8,000 in two checking accounts - monies I owed others -- had been garnisheed. Another day, a truck rolled up to Langdon Hall, where my office was. Returning from lunch, I watched workmen roll away my computer, typewriter, a paper folder, and other essential equipment.
I soon started repeating a success principle that I had read about many times in Success Magazine, in columns by Mr. Stone, no less:
Every Apparent Adversity Holds the Potential for an
Even Greater Opportunity to Those Who So Believe and Act
Deep inside, I knew that Mr. Stone had dealt me one of my finest cards ever, even though I didn't yet know what it was.
Gradually, it became apparent! For one, I met G.J.T., who had a dream to convert biomass waste products into an array of useful products. I supported him constantly for more than 10 years. Nearly 25 years later, we still don't know where that's going, although he's still trying!
The significant other: My embryonic interest in natural healing and releasing tension received a huge shot of motivation. I began to sign up for every workshop that was presented in Madison, in anything related to massage, and holistic or natural healing.
For several years, as I reconstructed my business - publishing Seminars Directory, a national directory of management seminars -- I traded massage with anyone I could find.
One day, one of my favorite massage trading partners said I was becoming so good, she wanted to pay me. "No way," I said! "Then I'll have to stop seeing you," she said. My response, "Gosh, you leave me no choice." That day, I became a professional, and started advertising massage for $15 an hour.
I also began to appreciate that my background in liberal arts and journalism was an advantage. It was my nature to continue learning, and I began to integrate new things with what I already did, even today!
Gradually, too, I began to seek words to describe my healing treatments.
It was obvious that I was not called to practice conventional journalism, and I no longer wanted to start the SSRA national service organization.
Although I didn't yet know, I was being called to develop a natural healing system that would eventually become one of the best available. Little did I know that it would take thousands of hours to develop something awesome!
Never once have I regretted the adversities that Mr. Stone handed me, although I do regret the impact they may have had on my children! As for me, had it not been for his ridiculous suit, I might not have found my true path of service.
I immensely enjoy doing what I do! Although at 67, I am two years beyond conventional retirement age, I feel robust and have no plans to retire.
While serving hundreds of people over the years, I have also learned to lead workshops - thanks to Kris Knight, who once taught two Mini-Course sections and asked if I would take over one of them. Over the years, I have seen 15,000 U.W.-Madison students alone - and several thousand adults at expos. I am also grateful to scores of clients over the years who have taught me so much! Each day is a learning experience!
I now see that to serve a million persons is no better than to serve just One Person at a Time! Through Morphogenetic Resonance, in time, perhaps we'll touch the million.
Over the years, I have taken more than 70 workshops, and integrated scores of techniques into treatments. Practice Makes Perfect. The best I know has come through practice, especially over the last 15 years, while working with the gift of guttural releasing, which helps me identify the points that best release tension!
Each year since 1976, I have integrated at least one new modality into treatments.
Working with the best from the East and West, it is obvious that synergism emerges. Step by step, a liberating Multi-Dimensionality covers the essential elements of what all humans are about, an integrated manifestation of at least three dimensional clusters -- the Spiritual / Energetic; the Mental and Emotional; and the Physical.
While I have no degree in health sciences, my B.A. in social sciences/journalism, M.S. in journalism and "almost" a Ph.D. in journalism have served well. Curious George Journalist, I am, asking each moment, What is happening? What might work better? How can I understand and explain what is happening?
I thank my deceased parents, Harry and Ruth Nelson, for several degrees that I received during childhood in the 1940's. I am fortunate that my mother was a work-at-home mom.
From my mother, I earned degrees in…
- The Golden Rule - Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
- A Degree in Strict Honesty. I was spanked, never hard, each time she caught me lying. I've never been able to tell more than "a little white lie" that hurts no one.
- A Spiritual Base. I was sent to Sunday school every week from age four-and-a-half. Over the years, I have attended scores of different churches.
- Diligence. "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!"
- Tolerance and non-judgment, to acknowledge that everyone is created equal.
From my father, I earned degrees in…
- The School of Hard Work and Continuing Diligence.
- School of Good Works. He, as I, was convinced that the money one needs will follow good works.
- School of Community Consciousness -- taught me to focus on others' needs, as my own.
I did find my perfect path! I adore touching other people with therapeutic hands and Heart, and a loving, selfless spirit. Once in awhile, I meet someone who suspects that I may have ulterior motives. Fortunately, most people understand my pure Spirit. I am here to serve! I have no unhealthy addictions of which I am aware.
It is essential, I think, to have committed to improving my own health while also serving others. Long ago, Socrates said: "Physician, Heal Thyself!"
Today, I almost take my good health for granted… It seems hard to understand why other people would choose to suppress pain and feelings. Feelings are to be felt, to open energy blocks that separate us from infinite healing power! Afflictions disappear through diligent natural treatments.
For me, that means I no longer have any chronic pain in my body, anywhere! Virtually all signs of scoliosis are gone. No longer do I twist my left ankle and fall down every two weeks. No more pain in my left knee! No more hay fever! No viral pneumonia! I haven't even been sick, for more than 15 years. A healing crisis is different; I have those all the time.
Am I Superman? I feel like one, but no: Just the product of natural healing.
Since I have now spent several years with this focus, it is no strain to work 14-hour days, or longer. I adore my work and don't easily get tired. I also learned from my father to take quick cat naps - Power Naps, they're called, for a few seconds or minutes, often while I'm working.
On Good Friday, 2005, at age 66, I started a job at 6 a.m. and went straight through the day non-stop, wrapping up at 10:30 p.m., and still felt good enough to drive nearly three hours to get home.
Once again, many modalities can be effectively integrated into a powerful holistic treatment, including…
Aromatherapy, Auric Work, Auricular Work, Body Electronics, Cleansing, Chakric Work, Colors, Conscious Breathing, Craniosacral, Entity Release, Facilitated Emotional Release, Guided Imagery, Invoking Higher Power, Esalen and Swedish Massage, Medicine Wheel, Music Therapy, Meridian Therapy, Myotherapy, Neuro-Mental Release (Rapid Eye), Nutritional Supplements, Osmotic Tension Release, Point Holding, Polarity, Reiki, Reflexology, Toning, Touch for Health, Good Water, and Zone Therapy!
I am especially interested in rebuilding battered minds and bodies, with…
- Cleansing of colon and other organs.
- Nutritional support and rebuilding of tissues.
- Release of physical tension from mind and body.
- Dissolving calcified energy-activating switch points / bone spurs.
- Releasing suppressed mental and emotional patterns.
- Immune system support...
To get a healing shift, we seek:
- Release of tension off points; you can hear it as it leaves you and me, flowing across my vocal chords.
- Heat/inflammation off calcified reflex points; we feel intense heat as densifications melt away. The Classical Tradition of Medicine, practiced for millennia in the East, understands that to heal, we need to convert a cold, chronic process into a hot-based acute one.
- For those who are ready, a nurturing environment that encourages releasing suppressed feelings.
I enjoy researching both conventional healing systems and so-called alternatives relating to health challenges, when I have time. Like to come to a workshop, or better, a retreat?
Wherever you live, please call my cell to leave your contact information. Then let's chat by e-mail as soon as possible. My wife, also an accomplished mind and body worker, and I enjoy traveling! When traveling, I'm in the perfect present moment and not always connected so please allow time for me to respond. The cost of our treatments is hopefully a fraction of what they are worth. We appreciate tips, to help us serve others of limited resources.
P.S. My first resource book, Caterpillar or Butterfly: Which Do You Choose to Be? is filled with natural healing how-to ideas. It costs $15.
